“I’m tired of them. [Atheist] I remember working at the Justice Department years ago when I first started right after 9/11 and a lawsuit like this came through, and before the day had finished, the United States Senate and the House of Representatives had both passed resolutions saying that they were for keeping ‘under God’ in the pledge. If these people really don’t like it, they don’t have to live here,” she added.
“Yeah, that’s a good point,” co-host Bob Beckel agreed.
“If you don’t believe then why do you care? It’s just like some guy’s name.” She finished.
And I thought Fox news couldn't get any worse. The comment on the fact its "just some guy's name" is easily distressed by stating that what if it wasn't the name God (Which isn't really a name it's more of a title.) with Allah or Krishna. This alone shows that very little thought went into this statement.
As for the "they don't have to live here" comment she's right we as Atheist don't have to live here. I'll admit that many probably don't want to live here. Some are stuck for family reasons others for financial and others just don't want to. Yet are we supposed to allow things to progress as they are? Are we not supposed to challenge things? Isn't that what the religious right is afraid of, not being able to challenge modern day norms? How are we to progress when being progressive is seen as wrong. Dana Perino, you're holding the whole class back.
My views on the lawsuit are clear. I'm all for the removal of "under god" but not the whole pledge. I believe original is better in this case. As many don't know those two words were never in the pledge until 1954. Many, much like my own grandparents, say that's a lie. I was promptly told I was brainwashed by the devil when I stated this in a conversation. Still yet facts are facts. No amount of "brainwashing" can change them. Simple.
At any rate this shows how pathetic Fox News is and I hope few people agree with this.
