We all remember Mr. Jones right? The man who burned a Korean back in March of 2011 and it sparked the backlash of which was deadly for 9 and injured many US forces in Afghanistan. Back then he really didn't give a damn and well now it seems he still doesn't give a damn seeing that he has been arrested while attempting to burn 2,998 Korans on 9/11. A while before the arrest on August 22 he stated that the FBI will protect him while he burns the books. But in reality they simply meant his first amendment rights which is freedom of speech.
Now before you jump to conclusions, much like I did upon first reading the headlines, he was not arrested for wanting to burn them. Terry Jones was arrested for simpler reasons. One major reason was the way they transported the already kerosene soaked Korans in a smoker to the park.
"He was potentially driving a bomb down the road had there had been a crash" Sheriff Grady Judd told ABC Action News.
Another reason was that he did not receive a permit to hold his demonstration in the park. That fact actually causes me to ask why didn't he just have it on church grounds? He's the pastor. That's his land. What was the trouble in doing that? Yet I realize I'm not asking a rational thinking man seeing that he went on with his plans after being told not to or he'd be arrested by both the FBI and the county police.
I face a larger question though. News reports are stating that he hard "about 3,000" of the books yet he was only two away from having that many. Why didn't he buy just two more? Also if he was paying for the Koreans then he was really helping companies who print, bind, and sell them. Causing them to be able to afford to sell more of them. This is like me going out and buying a 100 Justin Beiber CDs just so I can record myself breaking each one in half. There is no gain. There is no attack on Beiber cause he just go a load of my money. Which really hurts me. And this really hurt him. This whole idea was truly dumb.
Now do note I am no supporter of the Muslim faith or any faith really as all of you already know. But what is the gain in burning a Korean? If you're leaving the faith and it's an emotional reaction that's different but if you just hate it why do it. It's really just a waste of your time. But it does give me things to write about and for that I thank you.
