The American Family Association is are at it again. Can we please get some Leave It To Beaver theme music for these people? One of their groups in Kentucky sent out an appeal to their members today saying that due to prayer being "taken out" of schools "teen pregnancy went up 500%, STD’s went up 226%, violent crime went up 500% and SAT scores went down for 18 years in a row, opening the door for the AIDS epidemic and the drug culture."
Along with those not so accurate statistics there was a request to sign a petition calling for a law legalizing school prayer in the state, similar to the “inspirational message” bills recently passed in Florida and Mississippi. Of which is, in my own opinion, unconstitutional since it allows students to deliver "inspirational messages," which include everything from prayers to manifestos, at mandatory school events. I must add I'd be okay with it some what if it wasn't mandatory school events. I'm waiting for it to be taken down though the minute a Satanist or a Muslim student uses their right to pray. Promise you at that moment they'll have one extreme back-peddle.
I'll be staying posted on this one cause I really wanna know if they can actually do anything against the "evil forces" and make an impact.
