The story it's self is a terrible concept because what class would call for this action to be preformed by the professor? Even in classes about religious topics things like this wouldn't happen. Not even a class on "evilution" would this occur.
Another little problem with this story is the fact it's supposed to make Christians look good. In fact it does the exact opposite. The fact that the marine knocked him out rather than just pushing him off the platform contradicts the whole "Love thy neighbor as thy self" thing. Also the fact that when the professor awakes he doesn't retaliate or attempt to harm the young man. He simply tries to reason with the boy. This shows that he has more morality than the Christian does.
Something else that was pointed out by the video below is what class sits quiet long enough for someone to come to. Who doesn't immediately call 911 cause this crazy guy just knocked out the professor? Also who doesn't go up and see if he's still breathing? How is this lack of concern the type of Christian morality that people who write these stories say they hold up so proudly? This idea that if someone disagrees with us well we're just going to knock them out is immature. Yet many Christians seem to support this idea especially when they share stories like this. You don't have to punch someone to get them off a platform. If you're a marine simply pick the guy up and set him on the floor. Punching was your own rage. It wasn't God "sending" you it was you being angry.
By knocking a professor out who you disagree with you're making there work pointless. They aren't protecting his right when you knock him the fuck out! Assault charges would most diffidently follow this marines actions. And rightfully so! Though what was saying even to me seems ridicules and trivial it give no one a right to injure him. By this logic it would be my right to go outside and knock out a street preacher because he isn't preaching for the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Basically anyone that I disagree with it gives me right to harm them. We aren't in middle school anymore guys.
My question is why the hell do people write these? There are so many flaws in these type of stories if it converts anyone but your little Christian since birth grandma then those people are ignorant. They are probably so easily tricked that they'd fall for one bible verse on the cover of notebooks at Target. Thus you are wasting your time. I highly doubt that this story even keeps logically thinking Christians entertained. I feel it would only work with maybe my age group (15-17) and below. Well, I know it has worked with my age group otherwise I wouldn't be seeing it in my Newsfeed.
