Recently the NYC Satanic Temple announced that they are raising funds to erect a monument to satanism on the Oklahoma City state capitol lawn due to the recent erection of a ten commandments monument. The monument is to be in "good taste" and will have the principles of satanism on it. I'm fully support this monument. Though I'm not a satanist I think the separation of church and state has been violated. Now to fix a violation you don't violate it again but since they wont undo it it's not an open forum for everyones religion. This shows that Christianity does not have a pass to do whatever it wishes. As it seems the officials over the placement agree with my opinion.
Fischer, on the other hand, has a very different opinion than me. He's trying to say that religion means Christianity. Like if you say "I'm a religious person" it means you're a Christian. Ge believes that the men who signed and wrote the constitution meant religion to go by that standard. Which would mean you could ban any other religion and you could also ban this monument. What Fischer is proposing is exactly what the founding fathers wrote the first amendment for. The right wing constantly say how Obama is trying to be like Hitler and make everyone a Muslim but the right wing is doing the same thing just trying to make everyone a Christian. By banning things they don't agree with they are doing exactly what they fear most. Nazi Germany. The founding fathers were protecting America from people like Fischer who only want to make America a country that does exactly as his "god" wishes. Which allow me to remind you is exactly why the first settlers came to the new world. Freedom. Fischer stop trying to take us back to what we left.
