It wasn't too long ago that we wrote about Cindy Jacobs, a self proclaimed television prophet, stated that Native Americans -or anyone with ancestors of Native Americans- needed to repent for the sins of being such. Now a Methodist pastor is starting on this trip as well. Pastor Keith Cressman of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Bethany, Oklahoma is suing the state for the image of a Native American shooting an arrow into the sky calling is a "mobile billboard" for the pagan religion.
The license plate has even won awards. It was deemed the best license plate in the nation in 2009 by the American License Plate Collectors Association. The plate features a likeness of the statue by noted American Indian sculptor Allan Houser. The Native American is shooting an arrow into the sky as a prayer for rain. Not to worship a rain god. As someone who is all for government to be neutral towards any religion, from pagan, christian, hindu, or even islamic, I feel it all ought to be kept in the holy houses of the people -and shouldn't be tax exempt but that's a whole other story completely.
The pastor wants a different plate without the extra expense -that can range from around 18 to 35 bucks extra annually. I think that to make an exception just for this man is very insane yet to have an option would cost some money and to change the plate image to something else would be not in the favor of the people of Oklahoma thus making it very unfair. I think the tag should stay. I know that to this man it is morally wrong. And our constitution "ensures" freedom of religion. Yet I don't see the implication of paginish in this license plate and I'm sure many of don't either. I do however see it in other things such as in Easter and christmas. (I'll allow you guys to research that on your own.) I personally am not too worried about this. Honestly it's such a small change I feel it'll go practically unnoticed by anyone. I do see trouble though in this increase of people calling Native Americans sinful. This truly worries me. I don't want to imagine it but I'm going to take a Fox News slippery slope and say that what if this continues and we have to not teach our children about Sacajawea and Sequoyah. This is killing off our history. Maybe I'm over dramatic and that'd never happen but I still felt it should be pointed out.
In all actuality the religions of Native Americans was much more peaceful than christians. They never said it was alright to rape a girl then pay her dad and you marry her. They never said you could sell you daughters. They didn't even consider women less than men. I would much rather be in one other their faiths than the christians.
I would love to know your views in the comments below!
Alex Jones is a psychotic and irrational author, radio host, documentary film maker, and a conspiracy theorist. Today he was on the BBCs Sunday Politics Show. While on the show he -as usual- went insane. He also decided to make all Americans look like red neck ass holes. Ge thanks 'Shock Jock'. Thanks.
On the show they're speaking about the annual conference of the secretive Bilderberg Group meeting near Watford, with some leading political and business leaders from the US and Europe. I don't have an opinion on the topic simply cause of my lack of knowledge of it. Alex Jones though sure enough does have an opinion. (As always. . .) Jones couldn't keep his mouth shut long enough for the other man on the show to comment on anything said. It was quite sad. After being told to "Ay! shut up" about two or three times he finally had enough.
"Hey listen! I'm here to warn people you better stop telling me to shut up! This isn't a game okay? The USA, our government, is building FEMA camps. we have and [Ununderstandable] where they disappear people now!"
Like any rational human being would once Jones started shouting "You will not stop freedom. You will not stop the republic" Presenter Andrew Neil and Times columnist David Aaronovitch both cracked up making the shouting man seem to yell even louder. Below is the video of the incident.
Once again BBC, I am very sorry for this poor representation of Americans. Maybe one day we won't seem so ignorant and rude to you guys.
I'm a big fan of wrist tattoos. I though am way too much of a wuss to get one. But due to my love of them I have done a little online search for the ten most awesome wrist tattoos. The slideshow below has all of them 1 being kinda cool and 10 being awesome. Maybe you guys are braver than me and have wrist tattoos. If so send me a picture of them and I'll feature them in a later post. Enjoy.
